Down to impact and swing through

Using the stretched muscles of the left side to swing the club down gather the ball  and following through.

Two points to note are at impact where the hips and shoulders are facing almost fully to the ball, and in the follow through how the right knee is pushing in with the right shoulder moving downward.

As the body is primarily making a sideways motion to the left there is no natural element tending to push the hands outward. Instead the natural reaction has the club approaching the ball in a straight track.
